Content Calendar

The Content Calendar provides a visual overview of your scheduled posts and generated content, helping you plan and manage your content pipeline.

Overview

The Calendar page consists of two main views:

  1. Weekly Schedule - Shows all scheduled posts organized by day of the week
  2. Monthly Calendar - Displays generated content and allows manual content generation for specific dates

Weekly Schedule View

Each scheduled post appears as a card showing:

  2. Content is created using the scheduled post's configuration
  3. Generated content appears in the calendar on the generation date
  4. You can review, edit, and publish the content manually

You can manually generate content for any date:

  1. Click on a calendar day
  2. Select "Generate Content..." from the dropdown
  3. Content is generated for all scheduled posts configured for that day of the week
  4. A progress dialog shows the generation status
  5. Generated content appears on the calendar

Generation Status

During content generation, you'll see:

  • Progress Messages - Real-time updates on generation status
  • Content Count - Number of posts generated
  • Success/Error Notifications - Toast notifications when generation completes

Best Practices

Schedule Planning

  • Weekly Patterns - Set up consistent weekly schedules (e.g., newsletter every Monday)
  • Content Mix - Vary content types throughout the week
  • Story Selection - Use recent stories for time-sensitive content, trending topics for evergreen content

Calendar Management

  • Regular Review - Check the calendar weekly to ensure content is being generated
  • Manual Generation - Use manual generation to catch up on missed schedules
  • Content Review - Review generated content before publishing

Content Organization

  • Consistent Themes - Use custom topics for themed content series
  • Product Tie-Ins - Include product tie-ins strategically, not in every post
  • Story Counts - Match story counts to content type (newsletters can handle more stories than social posts)

Troubleshooting

No Content Generated

Check:

  • Are scheduled posts configured correctly?
  • Are there stories available that match your criteria?
  • Is your max story age setting appropriate?

Solutions:

  • Verify scheduled posts are active
  • Adjust content criteria if needed
  • Use manual generation to test content creation

Content Not Appearing on Calendar

Check:

  • Was content generated successfully?
  • Is the calendar showing the correct month?
  • Are you looking at the right date?

Solutions:

  • Check the Posts page to see if content was created
  • Navigate to the correct month in the calendar
  • Refresh the page to sync calendar data

Scheduled Posts Not Running

Check:

  • Are scheduled posts still active?
  • Is the day of the week correct?
  • Are there any errors in content generation?

Solutions:

  • Verify scheduled posts in the weekly view
  • Check that the day of week matches your intended schedule
  • Review error messages in the content generation dialog
